WOCO foundation facilitates a donation for building a school in Nepal
WOCO foundation Treasurer Norbert Zach acted as a "matchmaker" to connect a private donor to a school project in Nepal. "This is a perfect example of what the WOCO foundation can offer to donors, who really want to see and feel the impact of their donation", said Norbert Zach. "Our donor was very active in generating funds for a cause in Nepal, a country she had visited and which she wanted to help. After having gone so far with a lot of personal effort, our donor felt that giving the money to a big charitable organisation would not be satisfying. Apart from the fact that a substantial amount would be used for administration costs, just a bank statement, showing she had put money into a big impersonal bucket was nothing she wanted to do. So when we heard about her, we immediately made the connection. We got in touch with her and presented a school project that an international team of Round Tablers was organizing with a local club of Round Table Nepal, Zach continues. After meeting with the project team, our donor was so delighted that she agreed to contribute to the school." The opening of the school was taking place end of February 2007 – with the honorary visit of the private donor and some members of various “Round Table”-clubs from Europe who all donated funds for this particular school-project.
